Photography is a major interest of mine. I think being in the moment wherever you are is so important but capturing that moment so it can live forever and remind you of that moment is equally as important. For my birthday I was lucky enough to get a gift of a camera. I have always wanted a good camera so safe to say, I am pretty delighted.
Blackrock for me will always be a special place. I have some great memories from there. Growing up, I used to spend almost every day of every Summer there. Now, since I’m home having worked and studied abroad, I go to Blackrock again almost everyday. It is a place where I get inspired to paint and create, whether its to swim, walk or relax.
I am happiest when I’m creating and in my view photography is not about just capturing the moment, it is also about creating the capture. It is an art form. When I look through the lens, I think about the subject, what it is I’m capturing. The light or its absence is what makes me take my camera out in the first place. I want to capture atmospheres and this in my opinion is not only done by the subject but by light, shadow, how the light interacts with the subject. I also think of composition.
